“Then God said, ‘Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food.’” (Genesis 1:29)
What is your favorite fruit? Nectarines are one of my favorites. They are sweet, delicious and full of vitamins. God created all delicious fruits for us to eat and enjoy.
When God first created our earth, He put all kinds of plants and fruit trees on it. God did this for us so we would have healthy and delicious foods to eat. I’m sure you’ve heard that fruits and veggies are full of vitamins. You’ve probably heard your parents say to you, “Eat your vitamins!”
So, what exactly are vitamins? Well, vitamins are the parts of your food that make it good for you. Vitamins keep us healthy. God put them in all of the foods that He created. There are all kinds of different vitamins. Let me tell you about a couple of them.
Vitamin Akeeps our eyes and skin healthy. It also helps us to grow healthy bones and teeth. What can you eat to get Vitamin A? Carrots, cantaloupe, spinach and mangoes are a few of the fruits and veggies that have it.
Vitamin Cis another vitamin that can be found in the foods God created for us. Vitamin C can help us build healthy muscles and bones. If you cut your finger, Vitamin C helps it heal faster. Vitamin C can be found in many places, such as guava, red bell peppers, broccoli, oranges and strawberries.
These are just two of the many vitamins that can be found in your food. God knew what He was doing when He put the beautiful plants and the colorful fruit trees on our earth. He was providing us with the wonderful things our bodies need to stay strong and healthy.
So the next time you find spinach on the table for dinner, smile! You are getting a healthy serving of Vitamin A. And when you’re hungry for a snack? Grab a nectarine. Yummy! So be sure to eat your vitamins and make it a wonderful new day—a new day with Jesus!
